Our sales engineers shall make best estimates on missing information, based on our experience. We will contact you before quotation if we are missing significant information relevant for your case.

Ship/Boat Information

Type of Vessel: Please choose most suitable option. Use Other if none of the options suit your application.

Classification: If you require propeller to be aproved by a classification society, please choose suitable option. If your required society is not in the list, please select Other and out the name of the society to the Other Information field.

Number of props/vessel: Please choose the number of propellers on the vessel. The section will affect later sections of the form.

Please also indicate the Other Information field if the vessel is a newbuilding, and if you are interested also in auxiliaries like nuts and caps.

Ship Particulars

Please fill the vessel dimensions, according the drawing above.

In the Other Information field, you can also give relevant information on vessel hull form. (For example: V-hull, sharp bilges.)

For draught, the mean draught D is the most important.
Waterline Breadth (B) means maximum breadth.

Note: You can also give dimensions in feet, just note in Other Information that dimensions are in feet!

Engine Particulars and Reduction Gear

In Engine Brand and Type, please make a specific note if your engine is not diesel (ie. gasoline or diesel-electric)!

Reduction ratio is of specific importance as we have to know propeller RPM.

Our engineers can estimate power losses for you.

Note: You can also give use horsepowers, just note in Other Information that your power in on hp!

Propeller Particulars

Propeller types:

Propeller: Normal propeller
Ducted Propeller: Propeller in a duct/nozzle - typical tugboat configuration. Also suitable for most azimuth thrusters.
Thruster Propeller: Propeller in a pipe - typically bow thrusters.

Duct Particulars: Details of duct type. Typically Kort 19A
Design Condition: Operation condition propeller should be calculated for,
including engine power setting level.
Direction of rotation: RH (Right Handed) or LH (Left Handed)
Note: you can use Other Information field for measurements not included in the fields, like:

  • Rake
  • Shaft angle

Also use it for other requirements or wishes for propeller design or selection. Especially requirements for noise and other application specific concerns should be included here as they often call for custom design. Our engineers will evaluate always all given data as whole, and give recommendations based on our experience.

Hub Particulars

The drawing presented represents a typical keyway based installation.

If your application uses other installation methods than keyway like hydraulic installation, please elaborate in the Other Information field. In these application we'll require drawing of the hub, or for newbuildings, we can design the installation method for you also, for example SKF.
